Congratulations, Andrea!

Whoo-hoo for our lovely cousin Andrea who was the lucky number--and thank you to all the rest who warmed our holiday with their pictures and notes! Andrea celebrated Thanksgiving with her husband, baby girl and a few friends at their family cabin in Hartland. Sounds cozy!

What I love about Andrea and Shane is their commitment and attention to educating posterity about our most important family traditions surrounding this holiday and other formal family dinners:

So, congratulations Andrea; and look forward to a chocolatey, fabric-y package heading your way soon so that you can do some "making and baking" too!

Wade and I had a fantastic trip to Grandma Bailey's in Oregon for the holiday, and I'm totally embarrassed to admit that I completely forgot to take pictures of our own Thanksgiving table and spread! That's what I get for being overly excited and all hyped up I guess! We spent a day and a half in Tillamook and then the same amount in Portland celebrating my 27th. I did another photo album of Portland which you can check out here.

Wow, I don't think I ever won anything before. I am so excited. I am glad to hear you had such a wonderful time in Portland. I really love that area. P.S. Happy Birthday!

funny funny girls... way to go, andrea! love sydnie's olives... hatcher thinks that's how you HAVE to eat olives (he's even put sliced ones on his fingers)
and by the way bug... you didn't want to see the table I sat at at Thanksgiving! nearly shameful... paper trays to eat off of!!!!

Congrats Andrea! Courtney, I didn't take a picture either, because we ate at the Officer's Lounge on base, so nothing fancy for us either, Shelly. But we had a nice time, just the two of us.

That's the thing that is so interesting about Thanksgiving these days - many people go camping or celebrate casually. That's probably closer to the pilgrim-style anyways! both ways are fine with me, as long as there is plenty of food ;)

I agree Courtney. Thankgiving to me is family and lots of good food. It doesn't matter too much where or what the table settings are. (Even if I like everything to be perfect.)

I love hearing about so many of my nieces on one blog!! Great to know Sydney is learning all the wonderful, fun traditions of life along with the boring necessities like brushng your teeth so the olives dont' stick there when you say thank you!!

I tried the ol' olive routine myself... but alas, the olives at our Thanksgiving Table were too small!

The funny thing about the olives is that we didn't show her that. It came completely natural to her! One day at dinner we put some olives on her plate and during the course of the dinner Annie and I got into conversation and I looked over at Syd and she had put the olives on the tips of her finger purely out of childhood instinct! Now it's the first thing she does when she get olives on her plate.
