101 Cookbooks

With a count of 57, I'm over halfway there, although that's not really not the goal :) 101 Cookbooks is a food blog that I've been checking in on for a few years. I hadn't visited the site in a while, but was reminded to this week while catching up on my Design Sponge reading (below). So, it started with wanting to cook this...and then this...and then just wondering if I should pick up a copy of this!

Hunting & Gathering

For years I've been on the hunt for a few things...can't ever seem to find the perfect one. Any good leads?

1. Kitchen Clock (photograph from H is for Home)
2. Cheese Cabinet (like this one from Toast)
3. Enamel Bread Bin (like this one also from H is for Home)

Unrelated, I enjoyed Anthropologie's Open House--have you toured yet? Another thing to tour: Carol's Home from Basic French via Design Sponge.

Also, something good to know from Domino: how to make spiral bouquets.

Shoot Factory

Have you ever heard of Shoot Factory? It is similar to this type of thing... and again, I just fell in love. Especially with Chairsmatic, London (the source of the fabulous living room pictured here). I'm fairly certain, this could be one of my all time favorite interiors. Ever.

Lotta's Fabrics

Hooray--Lotta Jansdotter just launched her fabric line, available exclusively on her site. I really love her print designs and use of linen in her craft, and couldn't wait to see which fabrics she would be making available. I'm thinking that either of these would make a nice tea towel in our new kitchen (yes--we are finally moved in after several weeks of illness and disaster.) Our kitchen has a few greeney-yellow accents which makes me think this muted lime shade would be perfect (photos from Lotta's website). Unfortunately we haven't yet unpacked the box with my camera cords, so I'll have to post pictures of the new abode later...Oh, and speaking of kitchens with "green" accents, I found this to be pretty interesting.

And just for fun, a studio tour with Lotta (thanks for sharing, Mama!)

French-spiration

I saw this book in a store last week and loved looking through it. So simple and clean. Quite unlike the clutter that has somehow multiplied substantially in my eclectic home.

Small Magazine

Has anyone heard of Small Magazine? I just stumbled on it while visiting LTF's blog (below). It looks really cute, but I've never seen it in print. Their website is the best magazine website that I've seen as far as flipping through magazine pages goes...This issue they're featuring some of my favorite seamstresses:

Design Sponge "Round Up"

(Photograph from DS Home Tour--see below)

Downside of the day = stuck sick in bed again!

Upside of the day = spent a couple hours catching up on a truly great blog, Design Sponge, that I never seem to stay current on during the course of "normal life." Here are some of the things I found and wanted to share...

Britain Hotel Tour

(Barnsley House Garden image found on Flickr--more here.)

Jamie's last post inspired me to sit up from my sick bed of the past several weeks and dig up some other great British sites that I've stumbled upon over the past few years. Hope you enjoy...
(Babington House Loft image found on Flickr--more here.)

And just for fun, a great British designer who has an amazing London store: Jasper Conran. The New York Times Magazine featured it a couple of years ago, and I've been wanting to visit ever since...

Toast & Marmalade

A newly discovered awesome site from the UK has been inspirational and thrilling to peruse. I especially love "Ned's Cottage." Looking at it just made me want to have a cup of tea in one of my Emma Bridgewater mugs...

Above is a Toast & Marmalade mug from Emma--the vessel of choice to accompany many great chats with girlfriends, Mamas and even Grandmas! Seriously makes the best cup of tea...

So, I wasn't entirely surprised to see some Emma on the shelves inside Ned's enchantingly funky little cottage--totally completes my perfect English vision. Photos from Inspace Locations.
