Please Come to Boston in the Summertime...

Okay, no need to ask twice. The Boy and I will be back in a week or so...after a whole lotta fun.

I'm still loving these city posters from Ork. I can't remember if I blogged about them before...and this is a cool site if you want to (kinda) do your own (via How About Orange).

Here's a nice bag for 50% off. I'm still waiting (dreaming) on this one though...

Family Photographs

(TC & Edwina Morris and family - Lake Mohave 1960's)

Today I am putting the finishing touches on the slide show for our upcoming family reunion. It's been special and touching to look at so many old photographs...this particular one of my grandparents didn't make the cut, but it's the ultimate summertime photograph so I thought I'd share it. Happy summer days to you!

Sew Many Options

I have to tell you a secret.
For some reason, I totally KNEW I was going to be randomly chosen for this giveaway. And I was so excited because 1) I've been wanting to make some fun summery napkins and 2) I usually never have premonitions like this so I thought it was a cosmic assurance. But, come to find out, I'm not the lucky recipient of the Garden Party goodness. Isn't it lovely though?

So, to make myself feel better, I've been browsing the totally amazing hot new collections that are starting to hit Purl Soho, Sew Mama Sew and other web retailers. Its really just an incredible time to be making things. I'm so happy!

Yeah for Birdies

I'm just enchanted with this Bird Mobile from Spool Sewing which I found via How about Orange. If you visit Spool's blog, you can download the bird pattern... so of course I've already begun a flock of my own. Just a hint: don't try to machine sew them... they really aren't as cute as the handsewns (thats me trying to cut corners, or maybe me not reading the directions—but you can't picture me doing anything like that right?).

And speaking of sewing birdies, I'd also love to try the birdies on the cover of this book someday...

Silk Screening

I could go for this tea towel, or for that matter any of the others from the Mr. PS Etsy Shop. (Her blog is fun too.) Silk Screening looks like a great summertime project. I'm seeing it everywhere these days. Check out this bag from Heath Ceramics (something very fun from SLM.) I'm focusing on a photo slide show for our upcoming family reunion so I don't have a lot of spare time to devote to crafting of any kind, but it will soon be over and then I'm going to check out some simple printing projects from Lotta's new book...

Lena Corwin also just came out with a new book on the subject...has anyone seen it yet? I might have to check this book out too!

Happy Birthday, Little Bloggy!

Wow--today B&B is one year old. Many thanks to all of you who make blogging especially fun for us! I thought I'd change things up with a different look to celebrate...like it or no?

(Aussi, joyeux quatorze juillet! Bonne fête!)

Crystal Cove

Last night we went out to Crystal Cove to hang out with some family and friends. Wade's bro and family rented a cottage for the weekend. It was fun to be together and to see the interior of one of these historic cottages. I had a blast and can't wait to try to reserve one for sometime next summer! This is definately the way to camp at the beach! I posted some of our photos here.

Summer Adventures

It is full swing summer time in Central Oregon and I love it! Not much has been going on in the stich-sphere due to some hiking, fishing and canoeing adventures but I'm hoping some aprons, baby quilt explorations and some other randomness will be ready for show and tell soon.

This weekend, I'm out at the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show which is always inspiring. Check out Valori's blog for the behind the scenes scoop on it!
Enjoy the sunshine!

Ride in Style

(Image from Tretorn)

Looks like bicycling is the way to market clothing this summer! Ride Ride Ride (presented by Top Shop). Maybe they took inspiration from a few years ago. And speaking of The Gap--it's about time.

But forget about marketing--check out the real life revolution:
