Quilt No. 1

It is done--with many, many thanks to my Mama's help...
Some things I learned:
  • I loved designing the quilt and choosing the textiles, but
  • I couldn't manage the binding, so
  • Next time I will only sew the facing and will have a professional bind it as well as quilt it (I wish I had the patience, time, talent and motivation to do an all handmade quilt--maybe someday!)
  • Denyse Schmidt's "A Day at the Beach" quilt pattern (from her book) is a great quilt to make--it's super easy, yet has a well-balanced and interesting design...
Happy (late) birthday, Sally! xo
