Has anyone ever ordered anything from Ruche? They have lots of cute things (like the look of Anthropologie, but less expensive.) Just wondering the quality...lasts a while or one wash?

President's Day

To celebrate, perhaps I'll make Michelle Obama's Shortbread Cookies (found via Apartment Therapy). Or, at the risk of being unpatriotic, I might go with the Chai Spiced Rice Pudding from Pictures & Pancakes which is sounding quite nice on this stormy day.

The cutest cake stand in the world looks adorable with the cutest tidbit plates in the world (plates from Kate Spade's Larabee Road Collection)--thanks to my girlfriend Mimi for both!

I had fun using these pink polka dotted pieces for our Valentines treats. And, check out the napkins... I had them embroidered with a "G" that my girlfriend Jayna digitized for me. The "G" is from a set of silver that belonged to Brett's great aunt. This combination delights me!

Canteen, Captain & Channing Mirrors

Last year at the Dwell on Design Conference I fell in love with these Canteen Mirrors (fun option to a medicine cabinet) at the HOM prefab exhibit. So, this weekend I got a kick out of stumbling on Pottery Barn's version, the Channing Mirror:

Then, to wrap it up, I saw the post Remodelista did on the same mirror linking to yet another version by BDDW. Why I get a kick out of this, I have no clue. Design Nerd to the max!
