It's out & it's awesome. Just got my copy at a book signing this evening in Santa Monica. Great compilation of recipes for today's kitchen...funky veg from the farmer's market, ethical eating, vegetarian cooking, fast recipes but all good and healthy...can't wait to put it to use. While I was tempted to get my pic snapped tonight with Ruth for you, I decided there were enough weirdos in line and felt like I'd rather give her a break. So instead, I present the book cover compliments of Powell's Books. Ciao!Thursday, September 24

Booties for Baby
While Mom wasn't helping Court with Loralei's dress, she was helping me finish up the Saartje's Bootees pictured above. Thanks Mama! Check out the adorable ones below that she's been making for some of the new babies in our family:

Little Dress for Loralei
I (with some serious help) sewed this little dress for my work friend. We followed the pattern from Lotta Jansdotter's book, Simple Sewing for Baby. I used fabric from Alexander Henry's Anemone collection which I found on sale at Purl Soho. I thought the dress was beginner level but unfortunately it requires sewing trim on a bias and that wasn't so easy for me...
Anyways, thanks to my sister and mom, it turned out adorable. I couldn't find my camera in time to take decent photos in time for the baby shower--these are from my iPhone. Good enough!
