Today is our day (in sfgirlbybay's Blog It Foward Mashup) to talk about where we find inspiration. The list of participants is at once amazing and overwhelmingly extensive, so we decided to keep it simple (in case you're following all 300 posts). In a single word, what inspires us is authenticity...You know...things that are real--no knock offs!
- grounded people
- seasonal food
- independent stores
- cotton, linen and wool fabrics
- found objects
- wit and whimsy
- antiques and well-made modern furnishings
- tea prepared with care (Americans in general do not know how to do this!)
- quirky rooms
- handmade things and their makers
- imperfections
- fragrant flowers
- handwriting
- vintage ribbons, fabrics and notions
- blogs with fresh content
- artistic eyes
- epiphanies

What a beautiful post!
Great post! Authenticity can be so hard to find these days!
Nice list!
simple and beautiful list.
(such a great idea for a blog too- reminds me of the doodlespark mother/daughter notecards in which they share drawings)
Your list is wonderful and I'm digging your take on the concept!!
I love your list! I found it hard to narrow my focus on inspiration for my post. What a great idea to choose authenticity as your inspiration. And, yes, there is plenty of inspiration in authenticity!
Lovely blog, btw.
I am impressed by your ability to focus on one word. I love your list. I love handwriting. Handwriting is where it's at this year! All the blog banners, artwork, etc. I'm attracted to this year have some handwritten element. Great contribution to BIF, I am making the rounds each day and look forward to spending some more time here.
I really liked this post. Simple, honest and yes - authentic!
