At our most recent LA Modern Quilt Guild Meeting (which by the way is getting better and better!), we had a mini quilt swap. Can you even believe the adorableness of the quilt I got? This treasure was made by Lori--I LOVE IT! Thanks Alissa for these awesome photos too! So many incredible quilts were created and traded. As always, I'm just amazed and inspired by the creativity of our group. Read more about it at Handmade by Alissa and Seventeen & Em'.
In other fabric news, I've become obsessed with fabric swapping on flickr. If you are in-search-of (ISO) fabric, you have to give this a try. Or, if like me, you just like getting new fabric, you have to give this a try! It is simple: Join a swap group (I like the Designer Swappy Poo), Post a picture of the fabric you are willing to part with and comment or message the people you'd like to trade with. Thanks to Nicole and Chris from LAMQD who introduced me to the flickr fabric swap world... Beware, it's addictive!
For Mother's Day, B and I made these herb plant tags out of vintage silverware for our Mamas... Ever since I first saw this idea way back here, I've been wanting to 1) have some and 2) make my own (being the DIYer that I am). It was a fun little "joint" project for the Moms--mostly by B!
“Bricolage and Butter” is a reincarnation of our favorite childhood pastime—playing house. The contributors are two sisters who started this blog while separated by many miles. They now see each other much more frequently, but decided to keep playing here anyways...
